These resources are floating all over the Internet. Scanned books whose copyrights have gone out of scope. Please contribute to this list, contact me if you have any books not listed here. Download away!

A lot of these books contain information on high explosives, and are terrorist handbooks; something that this site does not endorse or focus on. The information found in these books does have use in pyrotechnics, despite the context in which it is presented. I strongly encourage people reading this material to judge the reliability of the sources of this information because some of it may be designed to injure or kill the person attempting to manufacture the outlined processes.

Volume 1 - 5,243KB, Volume 2 - 26,247KB, Volume 3 - 38,200KB, Volume 4 - 54,369KB -- this is a series of very large books that contain tons of technical information.

Chemistry of Powder Explosives, Tenney L. Davis

11,870KB, contains a lot of technical information, the scan isn't of the best quality, but it functions well.

Explosives and Propellants, from Commonly Available Materials - Desert Publications.

2,015KB, this is an anarchy manual at best, cheesy and short. May contains some useful information, but should all be taken with a grain of salt.

The Freedom Fighters Manual, unknown author

The Golden Book of Chemistry Experiments, Robert Brent

28,574KB, Seems to be geared towards kids/adolescents. Instructions for setting up a home lab and performing education experiments. Very nice scan. Courtesy of PyroLeo, an official pyro-pimp.

Improved Munitions from Ammonium Nitrate, Desert Publications

652KB, More of a pamphlet than a book. Contains some usable and relevant information.

Impact Firecrackers, by John Donner

241KB, John Donner's books contain some unreliably information and he doesn't emphasize the danger of some of his processes. Nonetheless, his books do contain usable and interesting information that is aimed at a mature audience.

Improvised Primary Explosives, Dirk Goldmann

80KB, focuses more on the "how" rather than the "why." I don't think the author fully understands the why and it is reflected in some of his processes in the form of useless steps and unnecessary parameters. The information is a crude outline nowhere close to academic theory.

Improvised Shaped Charges, Desert Publications

1,052KB, somewhat of an anarchy pamphlet yet with useful information.

Terrorists Explosives Handbook, Volume 1 The IRA by Jack McPherson

880KB, Give me a break. Have fun killing yourself while attempting to make these stupid devices. Please look to this manual as comic relief; don't be stupid enough to actually respect its contents.

Kitchen Improvised Fertilizer Explosives, Tim Lewis

2,841KB, Wonderful scan condition! Despite it's hilarious name, this book actually contains useful information. Guess you can't judge a book by its title.

This book has been removed because its copyright is still in scope. I have the hardcopy of this book and would recommend it if you are interested in some of the history and stats about firecrackers.
